Updates and announcements about the ZIP Flap technique
The latest publication from colleagues in Israel discusses the use of vein visualisation techniques to enable safe perforation of the radial forearm flap when used in the ZIP Flap technique. They demonstrate this in the management of a young 25 year old patient requiring a low level maxillectomy.
Subramaniam Narayana, a surgeon from India published their experience with 8 ZIP flaps where a simple acrylic prosthesis was placed at the time of surgery. They showed excellent results with their cases despite the use of adjuvant radiotherapy. Checkout our publications page to read the full paper.

Clinicians at the Royal Preston Hospital reported their first ZIP Flap on a 81 year old patient treated for squamous cell carcinoma of the hard palate. The surgery, which was led by Mr Pavan Padaki, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon with Dr Jennor Trainor providing the prosthodontics treatment.
